Mitral valve annuloplasty. Artwork of the coronary sinus, part of a sequence demonstrating the insertion of a stent into this heart blood vessel to correct a faulty mitral valve. This procedure is known as an annuloplasty. The positioning of the coronary sinus on the heart relative to the mitral valve allows the insertion of a stent (a metal rod and mesh) to reinforce the sinus and push the flaps of a leaking mitral valve closer together.
