Leaf galls on leaves from a bush from the rainforest understory. Galls are abnormal growths on plants, usually caused by parasitic organisms such as fungi or insects. If caused by insects, each gall contains a larva feeding on the plant. Eventually a new insect will hatch out from each gall. These leaves are from the Ecuadorian Amazon.
