A door post for a Bamileke palace,Cameroon,Grasslands,before 1920 Squared wood worked with four,male figures in half relief,set one above the other,with arms raised in front of the chest,and skull-like heads with their teeth bared. Dark patina with small defects. Height 211 cm. More than anything else,an artisan's architectural carving in a Bamileke kingdom was expressed in the construction of the royal palace. Cf.
