Vintage 19th century photograph: captioned on the back as General Sir William John Codrington, GCB (26 November 1804 – 6 August 1884) was a British Army officer and politician who served in the Crimean War. There is a strong resmblance, but an image of him taken in 1855 shows a man with greyer hair.
