'The Anniversary of these venerable societies was celebrated at Exeter [in Devon] by the performance of divine striking and interesting feature in the congregation was the attendance of the children of the various schools in the receive or use books from the Society for Promoting Christian school children present, Hundredth sung by the children in very creditable time and tune; but here criticism would be out of place, as, independently of other mere want of a rehearsal together beforehand would have been sufficient to have excused any amount of imperfection.
