Thereis no reduction of motility, and there may be even an increased rapidityin emptying, the administration of atropine leading to no change in thecondition. Such cases require to be examined on more than one occasion before anaccurate diagnosis can be made. There is rarely any residue after six hours,showing that there is no real obstruction to the passage of food.
