September 4th, 2022 - Gibraltar woke up with the prospects of further clean up operations across its shorelines as oil from the stricken bulk carrier OS35 reached the shorelines. Already the clean up had started the previous day as oil reached the western side of the Rock of Gibraltar after the slick drifted westwards from the eastside where the vessel has broken up at a depth of 17m. The recovery of fuel from the vessel continued with thge assistance of Spanish maritime resources co-operating with Gibraltar maritime assets. Environmental agency personnel were monitoring the beaches and shorelines across the whole of Gibraltar as the community woke up to another day of sunshine, and a sea crisis which has effectively put an end to the bathing season.
