St Hywyn's Church, Aberdaron: W door of N aisle which was the original C12th nave & chancel. Bell-cote part of C14th/15th rebuilding, S aisle added in C16th. Norman & Medieval, the principal parish church of Lleyn, built near the SW tip of the Peninsula & the embarkation point for pilgrims to Bardsey Island. The poet R. S. Thomas was vicar here 1967-78.
