Underground fire damaging footpath adjacent to the river Tyne near to Clara Vale, north east England, UK


Clara Vale colliery closed in 1966, and it is thought that the fire may be due to the burning of coal from a spoil tip that was situated at this location adjacent to the river Tyne.
