A shapely silver-leaved shrub with ornamental reddish-brown bark in winter; perfectly hardy and easy to grow ; the bright yellow flowers appear in June on long stalks, but the greatest value of the shrub is the fruit which is produced in the greatest abundance along the whole length of the branches; , PORTLAND, IST. Y. color a deep orange red ; oval in shape, and about one-half inch long ; one of the most valuable ornamental berry- bearing shrubs, and should be largely planted. -iOcts. EXOCHORDA GRANDIFLORA. A hardy flowering Japanese shrub, producing large white flowers in May. Is a vigorous grower, forming a neat compact bush from 10 to 12 feet high ; can be trimmed into any desired shape; the flowers are borne in slender racemes on light and wiry branches that bend beneath their load of bloom just enough to be airy and graceful; one of the very best shrubs of recent introduction. 35 cts.
