Pingualuit crater in Quebec, Canada, was formed millions of years ago by a meteorite striking the land, and today it is a deep lake. Pingualuit is kilometers ( miles) across and 267 meters (876 feet) deep. Also referred to as the Chubb Crater; New Quebec Crater. The crater and the surrounding area are now part of Pingualuit National Park. The only species of fish in the crater lake is the Arctic char. An optimised and enhanced version of NASA imagery.
