Also known as Tachogang Lhakhang ("Temple of the Hill of Excellent Horse", this is one of the oldest Dzongs in Bhutan. Built by Tibetan Buddhist saint, Thangtong Gyalpo (1385-1464) in 1420, the relatively small temple is located opposite the road from Paro about 5km before Chudzom and is still maintained by his descendants.
