The following- information is obtained from an article by Cherry, in the April number of the Journal of Agriculture ofVictoria. It is reprinted here in view of the great interest thatis now being taken in Hawaii in the conservation of farm food-stuffs as a protection against drought: The use of the silo is gradually coming into favor all over theState, and at Nhill several have been built and filled this season, principally with oats, barley, or native grass. The object is toprovide succulent food for lambing ewes, just when all the grassis dry. Mr. Dahlenberg has opened and fed a good part of thecontents of his silo to cows, and is highly pleased with the results,.
