China: ‘Narcissus’. Handscroll painting by Zhou Tianqiu (1514-1595), 16th century. Zhou Tianqiu (1514-1595) was a Chinese painter hailing from the Ming Dynasty. Little is known about him, and only a few of his paintings have survived to the modern day. He was also a calligrapher and a poet.
