ATLEE BURPEE & CO., TUBEROUS-ROOTED BEGONIA. TUBEROUS-ROOTED BEG-ONIAS. Beautiful Plants for Bedding. It is only recently that it has been known what splen- did hedding plants the Tuberous-rooted Begonias make, and how magnificently they flower in the open garden under our hot summer sun. The dry tubers can be planted out any time in the Spring when the ground is warm, and will produce a wealth of beauty and profusion of bloom all the .Summer and Fall months. The bulbs can be taken up after frost and kept over winter in a dry, warm place,—as easy to keep and plant as a potato. The beautiful foliage consists of shapely, glistening leaves, gracefully disposed, the plants forming dense oval pyra- mids crowned with unsurpassed sprays of the most bril- liant flowers, some small in size and little gems in brilliancy, others of such immense size as to measure from four to six inches across a single flower. Our mixed tubers are all from varieties with splendid flowers, of fine form and substance, of dwarf growth, well adapted for bedding, and present in unsurpassed mixture all the fol- lowing distinct colors: bronze, yellow, crimson, dark crimson, magenta, orange, scarlet, pink, red, rose and white. They are covered with bloom the entire season ; the gorgeous tropical effect for bedding can scarcely be imagined. Single varieties, in finest mixture, 15 cts. each; 4 for 50 cts., or per doz. Single varieties in separate colors,—Crimson, Pink, White, Yellow and Orange, at 25 cts. each, or $ per doz., purchaser's choice of colors. Double varieties in finest mixture. These are too expensive for general use for bedding, but are so magnifi- cent that single specimen plants attract universal admira- tion. Price 50 cts. each; 5 for $, or per doz.
