At Sanjao Kuan Teh (Kuan Teh Old Temple) in Chinatown, Bangkok, Thailand, a temple employee feeds greens to a statue of famed Chinese war horse Chi Tu
In detail: A ritual at Sanjao Kuan Teh, also referred to as Kuan Teh Old Temple, a Chinese-Taoist temple in Chinatown, Bangkok, Thailand: A temple employee 'feeds' a plate of greens to the golden statue of a horse representing the famed war horse Chi Tu (Red Hare), which plays a prominent role in the 14th century historic novel 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms'. The horse changed ownership several times, initially belonging to a series of Chinese Chinese warlords, then to military general Guan Yu. After Guan Yu's death in 220 , it is said to have starved itself to death - a good reason for Taoist worshippers to posthumously feed the horse's statue.
