Prehistoric human skull
Skull of an adult male of the species Homo heidelbergensis. This species of archaic human lived in Africa and Europe during the middle Pleistocene (,000-126,000 years ago). This specimen has been dated to around 430,000 years ago, and is nicknamed Miguelon. Miguelon suffered 13 blows to the head and likely died from tooth infection. This skull was found in the Atapuerca Archaeological Site, Spain.
