Oakland Farm, Green Street, East Worldham, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 3AU. 14th August 2016. The Worldwide Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, leads thousands of delegates during the Pledge of Allegiance ceremony, reaffirming their loyalty to their country of residence. For more than one hundred years the Ahmadiyya Muslim community has been leading a peaceful revival of Islam from the time it was founded in India in 1889. Established in the UK since 1913, the organisation built London’s first mosque in 1926 (The London Mosque in Putney). They now have 129 branches across Britain and have opened a number of mosques including the landmark Baitul Futuh mosque in south London, which is the largest in western Europe. Organisers say they expect over 30,000 Muslims to attend the Islamic convention, now in it's 50th year, during the course of the 3 day event in the Hampshire countryside. They will pay tribute to Britain for the freedom it gives its citizens and see delegates pledge loyalty to their nation as a fundamental part of their faith.
