An instructor at the Regional Police Training Center in Mether Lam, Lagman Province, Afghanistan explains to police recruits how to properly handle weapons during a weapons safety class required before they begin handling weapons. The course takes five weeks and prepares recruits for the basic functions they will need to be familiar with to do their job. The Mether Lam RTC is scheduled to be one of the first training centers in Afghanistan to transition to be fully operational without coalition assistance. (Released) Senior Airman Hatch)
