Shahi Masjid Chitral, built in 1924 by Shujah ul Mulk , then the Mehta of Chitral and Chitral football ground in the foreground
Shahi Masjid Chitral, built in 1924 by Shujah ul Mulk who was the Mehta of Chitral and Chitral football ground. Shahi Masjid has a beautiful entrance which is opened up in a big courtyard. You can find some beautiful art work on the floor and walls which truly represent the Chitrali legacy and culture along-with a true Islamic touch. The main hall of this Masjid has three domes and two big minarets. From inside, the hall is given a slightly different look and white with green color combination is used for the admirable art work. This Masjid looks quite similar to the Shahi Masjid Lahore. The Shahi Masjid Chitral is very well maintained by the local authorities and the Department of Archeology.
