Lemur (family Lemuridae) sitting in the fork of a tree. Lemurids are medium-sized arboreal primates, ranging from 32 to 56 centimetres in length, excluding the tail, and weighing from to 5 kilograms. They have long, bushy, tails, and soft, woolly fur of varying colouration. Lemurs are endemic to Madagascar and unlike most other primates, they live in female dominant (matriarchal) societies. Photographed in the Montagne des Francais Reserve, northern Madagascar.
