Tlingit Raven rattle 19th C from NW coast of USA - British Columbia, Canada or Alaska. Racven rattles are iconic in Northwest Coast art carried bt chiefs but with shamanic associations. Here the Raven has a hawks face carved on the breast. The human figure lying on his back links tongues with a bird whose crest feathers represent the ravens tail.
