As the temperatures rise and the dry land expands, the Mediterranean island suffers from the increasing alert of fires closer to tourist towns and cities. On July 20th, a wildfire spread from a valley close to the outskirts of Castellammare del Golfo, a notorious tourist town. The flames arrived close to the houses, but the firefighters and forest guards controlled it on time.
