Since 1997, the Spinningfields area of Manchester City Centre, between Deansgate and the River Irwell has been developed as a business, retail and residential development by Allied London. Hardman Square was created in 2006 by the demolition of the old Manchester Magistrates Court and Allied London has decided to keep the square green and undeveloped. Towards the Irwell the Left Bank Apartments were completed in the summer of 2007. This development, which includes an elevated skyway linking the two blocks (seen here), includes 391 luxury apartments above riverside restaurants. Looking up from Hardman Boulevard, two window cleaners sitting abseil lines, cleaning the windows of the skyway link.
