A kura and a pair of abumi, Japan, dated 1647 and middle Edo period. The saddle frame made of red oak, dated on the underside "SHOHO NI NEN GO GATSU JYU KU HI" (1647), and signed "MASA YO" with kakihan and several times with the kanji "Sa". Traces of wear reveal the original nashiji casing, which was renewed in the late Edo period. On the front frames each a Tsuru (no) mon in shakudo and gold. Chippings on the crossbar. Length 38 cm.
