La Jolla, CA. May 28, 2020. Trash accumulates on the sand at Blacks Beach. Over the 2020 Memorial Day Holiday weekend beachgoers abandoned food wrappers, bottles, cans, and other items on the beach at the base of the Blacks Beach Ho Chi Minh access trail. Because it is remote and not accessible by city trash trucks, Blacks Beach does not have trash receptacles. Beachgoers are required to pack out what they pack in, but some ignore this regulation.
