As the Britifli Coleoptera are in few inftances remarkable for thatfplendid glow and gaiety of colours which diftinguifh thofe ofwanner climates, we are more inclined to admire the beauty of thisrecently difcovered fpecies of Chryfomela. It appears not to havebeen noticed by any preceding author; and as it remains with us todeiignate fome fpecific appellation, we have named it Marjhami, incompliment to that eminent entomologift T. Marfl:iam, Efq,—aname, perhaps, the more appropriate, as it is known among thatgentlemans fcientific friends the world will foon be favoured withhis invaluable papers on Britifli Coleoptera.
