Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Whitefly larva (Trialeurodes vaporariorum). Trialeurodes vaporariorum is known as the greenhouse whitefly and belongs to the family Aleyrodidae. It lives in the temperate regions and it a primary insect pest of many fruit, vegetable and ornamental crops. It is frequently found in greenhouses and other protected horticultural environments. Adults have cream-colored bodies and four wax-coated wings. Mature adult insects are a carriers of plant viruses. Magnification: x14 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
