There was to be prepared a properlead box to be placed under the stone, and a silverplate with a proper inscription to be deposited in thatbox, with such documents and other articles as theCommittee may deem proper. On St. Peters Day a large congregation gathered athalf past nine oclock in the morning in the GeologicalHall. There were present the Provisional Bishop ofthe diocese, the Bishops of Indiana and Iowa, the rec-tor of the parish and about twenty other clergymen,including those of the city of Albany. The Building of the Third St. Peters 321 Morning Prayer was said by the rector of the Churchof the Holy Innocents, the Rev. Sylvanus Reed; therector of St. Pauls Church, the Rev. Dr. WilliamRudder, and the rector of the parish. At ten oclock a procession was formed in which werethe male members and the wardens and vestry of Church, the surpliced clergy and the the procession reached the north-east corner ofthe church it halted and divided to allow the bishopsand clergy to pass through. The one hundred andtwenty-second psalm was read responsively, and BishopPotter commenced the service for the laying of thecorner stone.
