Turmeau, who was trained at theRoyal Academy, combined the practice of art witha stationery business, and held a good positionlocally as a miniaturist. He was a member of theLiverpool Academy from its formation in 1810until 1832, President in 1812 and 1813, Treasurerfrom 1824 to 1832; and he contributed to itsExhibitions until 1842.
