Sori hypophyllous, on orbicular brown spots, minute, scattered or circinate, roundish, at first yello wish- brown, then brown; spores fusoid, generally rounded above and thickened (up to 5 //,), hardly constricted, tapering below, smooth, yellowish or very pale brown, 28—52 x 10—16 ix, pedicels hyaline, persistent, as long as the spore or shorter. On Veronica montana. June (or earlier) to October. Not common. (Fig. 119.) Distinguished from P. Veronicarum by the very clear-coloured and narrower spores, which are less strongly thickened at the apex.
