There were two wheels and two strongthills. They protruded behind the axle, wherethey were united by a curved arm, and theyevidently protruded in front of the horse whenhe was harnessed into them. Between the horseand axle a curious contrivance rose above thethills, very much like the bowl of a spoon, form-ing a seat just large enough for one. There wasno floor under it, but two large iron loops at-tached to the thills seemed intended for foot-rests. What a funny contrivance, said Roy, witha laugh. Wonder if that fair-faced fossil standingbeside it belongs to it, Scott remarked. He wouldnt know enough to tell you ifyou asked him, Roy replied. Its a Nor-wegian sulky
