They are composed of three white wood (orpoplar) veneers, each ;a Inch thick, the grain of the center layer running at rightangles with the two outside layers. Hence they derive all the special and well-known advantages of glued up wood over single ply, namely:1 st. They are fully 75 per cent stronger, for they brace and stiffen thecar. 2nd.
