Dessert plate depicting the Battle of Talavera, Spain, 1809 (1818). Item in Apsley House, London. Dessert plate from the Duke of Wellington's Saxon Service, made at Meissen in 1818. This was a gift to Wellington from the King of Saxony, and depicts the battles the Duke won during his military career, in this example the Battle of Talavera (27-28 July 1809), during the Peninsular War.
