LIFE AT ROYAL NAVY ARMAMENT DEPOT FRATER, GOSPORT, 25-30 JULY 1944 - AT RNAD Frater, the mine depot administered by RNAD Priddy's Hard, Gosport men and women workers fitting the complicated instrument panel to loaded mines. This panel contains the mechanism which sets the mine off. Each panel is heavily padded with sorbo rubber and it is said when a mine was dropped accidentally from the air on to a concrete runway the instrument panel survived the shock intact Royal Navy
