. Florists' review [microform]. Floriculture. Mention The Review when yon write. BRAMPTON, ONT. The Market. Business is remarkably good; in fact, it has never been better at this time of the year, there being no difficulty whatever in selling all that is grown. Early chrysanthemums were rather a disappointment, but the middle of the next week will see some good stock on the market. Eoses are better than they have been for many months, and the new carnations are showing less of a sleepy tendency than during the last three or four seasons. At the Dale Estate. At the Dale Estate orchids are being cut in large quantities, and the new range of violets, two and one-half acres in extent, is yielding splendid blooms and big cuts daily. The demand for valley is astonishing, pressing inquiries having recently been received from New York, Boston, Eochester and other points in the United States for the fine grade that has already gained this firm its high reputation as a producer of valley. A large cement bulb house, about 150x200 feet, is in the course of erec- tion and the bulbs now arriving will receive somewhat better treatment this winter than has hitherto been the case. The large boilers are now being installed in the new violet section, and if the weather keeps as mild as it is at present, the delay will not cause any- thing to suffer after all. On the retirement of the present member for Peel, owing to the appoint- ment of that gentleman to another government position, there will prob- ably be a by-election in the near fu- ture. Two oi* three candidates have already allowed their names to appear, but the Conservative party has been quite solicitous that Thomas W, Duggan, the present mayor of the town, should stand. Mr. Duggan is well known as the managing executor of the Dale Estate, and if he decides to go in for political honors, it will keep the Lib- erals busy to find a man more worthy to represent this constituency in the House of Assembly.
