It is a strong and rapid grower, attaining a height of 30 feet or more, with beautiful fern-like foliage, and literally covered with a blaze of circular cardinal-red flowers from mid-summer till frost. The flowers, about 1^ inches in diameter, are borne in clusters of 5 to 7 each. Like other Ipomoeas, it delights in a warm, sunny situation and good soil. The seed may be started indoors in March or April, in a temperature of not less than 70 degrees, but it is just as well to wait until the weather gets warm and settled and then sow out of doors. Packets containing about 25 seeds each, 15 cts.; 2 pkis., 25 cts.
