Sole photographer on the spiral paths leading to and from the top by going around the mound, Northala fields Park, Northolt, Middlesex, tight crop
When driving from the M40 onto the A40 before Northolt on the London bound carriageway you will see large hills, clearly man made, on the right. They were created from the rubble of the old Wembley stadium, and like many old coal slag heaps in the north, landscaped to make a creative park with four mounds, Children’s play area, café and small lake. The park is well used by walkers and does provide some good people watching opportunities as people carefully walk down the first of the mounds, slowly gaining confidence as the realise they will not wall as they reach the bottom. The park is award winning and a good example of recycling. From the top of the mounds you can see the new Wembley stadium from the remains of the old.
