Fruit sellers at Sunday Bazaar stall in Karachi, Pakistan
A Bachat Bazaar is regularly organized in DHA Phase-VIII under the aegis of Defence Housing Authority to facilitate provision of daily useable items to the residents at reasonable rates. DHA Bachat Bazaar is the largest Bazaar in DHA spread over an area of 4,000 sq yds. The Bazaar comprises a large number of vegetables, fruit, clothing, grocery, books, fish and poultry stalls. The management and running of Bachat Bazaar is a joint responsibility of the contractor and DHA. DHA provides space and security for the venue and oversees the smooth functioning of the facility, whereas day to day running of Bazaar and interaction with the shopkeepers and the residents is being looked after by the contractor.
