Key West, Flora, Plumeria - Plumeria


Key West has a charm that has attracted many people. Part of that charm is the climate which is characterized as tropical savanna climate with only a small difference in monthly mean temperatures. According to the National Weather Service, the Florida Keys have never recorded a frost or freeze. Additionally, the heat of the summer is mitigated by the easterly tradewinds. The wet season falls in the May to October part of the year with the dry season occurring from November to April. Not only do people love the climate, many plants do as well. . Plumeria (Plumeria) is a genus of flowering shrubs or small trees with fragrant flowers of white, yellow, pink, and purple.
