The romantic marble balcony at Casa di Giulietta - (Juliet’s house) is where Romeo supposedly climbed to reach Juliet in the medieval city of Verona in the Veneto region of northern Italy. The balcony is in fact in a restored 13th-century inn. One of Shakespeare’s plays, ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ was the setting. Two of Shakespeare's other plays are set in Verona: The Two Gentlemen of Verona; and The Taming of the Shrew. Verona has been awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO because of its urban structure and architecture. .
