Cw 3066 Boats outside the Lion Salt Works on the Trent and Mersey canal Over the weekend of 10th and 11th of June 2017 the Lion Salt works alongside the Trent and Mersey canal at Marston near Northwich held their second annual Vintage transport event. Along with a goodly number of road based vehicles ranging from vintage cars to Traction engines the canal saw old ex working boats moored and available for the public to board and inspect, and there was the chance to go for a cruise along the canal up to the Anderton Boat lift and back again. In this picture the trip boat “Duke” arrives alongside “Buckden”, “Warbler” and “Shad”. The date is Sunday the 11th of June 2017. Copyright Colin Wareing Cw 3066.
