These Chariten or Gratiën were goddesses of beauty and grace, which brought joy, beauty and creativeness to both the people and the gods. On archaic images, they were still shown as three loose, women-sandwiched women, but in the 3rd century BC. This creates a performance from this, which is also a result today: three naked women, which hold each other at the shoulders and of which two frontal are shown, while the third on the back is shown.
