It remains in good condition from two to three weeks after other varieties have gone to seed. This characteristic makes it especially well adapted for spring planting. The plants make a rapid growth, leaves are large, very much crumpled or blistered, and of that desirable attractive dark green color. It is ready for use almost as soon as the medium early varieties. We believe this spinach will find a place among the standard sorts as soon as it becomes better known as it is sure to win favor from both home and market gardeners because of its distinctive qualities. King of Denmark Spinach We have given special attention to the growing of our stocks of Bloomsdale Savoy Spinach, and have succeeded in keeping it free from strap leaf and other undesirable sorts which have existed in some stocks dur- ing the past few years. This variety is grown to a much larger extent than any other, it will produce a much larger jaeld than other sorts, leaves grow very crimpled and curled, of a dark attrac- tive green color, making quite a pretty pic- ture when the plants are fullly matured. It is an excellent shipper, holds well in transit, and brings good prices. It should not be planted in extremely hot weather as it is likely to shoot to seed quicker than the long standing varieties.
