Street performance at night. La arribada commemoration, Baiona, Pontevedra.
La Arribada is an annual celebration of the arrival of the caravel La Pinta from its first expedition to the Americas. It happened on the first of march 1493 when the captain Pinzón reached the village of Baiona after crossing the Atlantic from the new world back to Spain, becoming the first place to ever know the existence of the new continent, most exactly, what they thought to be a new way to the Indias. So annually a great medieval festivity takes place in the village on the first weekend of march with a traditional medieval market
