Copper mine excavator and truck. This massive truck (lower left) is used to transport mine haulings and ore from the excavation areas to the processing areas. Excavation is done using large excavation machines, such as the one at lower right. This excavation is taking place at the Phelps Dodge copper mine in Morenci, Arizona, USA. An open pit mine, this is the largest copper mine in North America, and one of the largest in the world.
