Here he lived, takuig an active inter-est in all enterprises in the community, and herealso his death occurred when he was in hisseventy-ninth year. His wife, whose birth alsooccurred on Long Island, lived to be eighty-twovears of age. She was of Holland extraction,and her people were very much respected wher-ever their lot was cast. Both parents of oursubject were members in excellent standing ofthe Reformed Church, and were active in allgood works in their locality. The subject of this sketch made his home withhis parents until their decease, when he inheritedthe home farm on which he has since property comprises one hundred and fifty.
