The sup- ply of carnations is still large and equal to the demand. Of course, white carnations were in great demand for St. Patrick's day and were in fine shAPC- "^^6 proportion of white seems to be about normal. Boses are increasing in supply right along, owing to the fine spring weather and the abundance of sunshine which we have been having for the last week. The weather has been exceptionally warm lately; the thermometer regis- tered close to 50 degrees Saturday, March 14. Sunday evening we were treated to our first rain storm of the season. If the warm weather contin- ues, the prospects are bright for an exceedingly large cut of everything for Easter. The quality of the roses is exceptionally fine at this time, and the stock is being cleaned up as fast as it is cut. The supply of violets and sweet peas is quite large, enabling the trade to take care of all orders on this stock. The Butterfly sweet peas are excep- tionally fine and are bringing good prices. Bulbous stock is in fine condi- tion and is selling well. All indica- tions are that there will be an enor- mous sale of plants in and out of pots for Easter; in fact, there are some va- rieties which are practically sold out at this early date. Lent is not mak- ing the usual inroads in the flower business this year, and while we can give n
