Isabeau of Bavaria (also Elisabeth of Bavaria-Ingolstadt; 1370 – 1435), Queen of France when she married King Charles VI in 1385

Born in 1371. Daughter of Duke Stephen II of Bavaria-Ingolstadt. She married Charles VI in 1385 and when he became mad in 1392, was put at the head of the Regency of the Dauphin of France. During the Armagnac–Burgundian Civil War , she protected the Duke of Orleans, and after the assassination of the latter (1407), she treated him with John the Fearless, to maintain power. She even disinherited his son (Charles VII) and the Treaty of Troyes (1420) delivered France to Henry V of England. After the death of Charles VI (1422), she no longer played any role.
