Alexander Column designed by Auguste de Montferrand at Palace Square in St Petersburg, Russia


The monument was erected after the Russian victory in the Napoleonic wars and named after Russian Emperor Alexander I. Tower of the Admiralty Building is show in the background. Historical centre of Saint Petersburg has been inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List.
